Post 4: Doc2 and Carroll's Essay

The rhetorical context of my Doc2 is to inform/persuade students interested in aviation why they should decide to do flight.  My Doc2 uses a persuasion and some imagery to promote aviation flight as a solid career choice. Gemini Highlighted the excitement, global opportunities, and financial rewards of aviation flight. There is also alot of skill development, constant learning, and it is easy to inspire future generations to decide to fly. In the book "Backpacks vs. Brieftcases," Carroll asked, "Is the rhetoric targeted at an audience who has the power to make change?" I saw that and decided to make my Gemini document reflect the people that I wanted to inform and influence to choose a career in aviation flight which are highschool and college students. Gemini did help in this blog post only because you mentioned it.

Post 3: Mike Bunn and My Doc1

Using outside sources in academic writing is a must, and in my opinion in any type of writing you should have some type of source. Mike Bunn did swimmingly well with how many different types of sources he used. If I am not mistaken he used 6 different sources and incorporated them very well into his writing. I really didn't notice any big jumps in his sentences to where it was very obvious where he used different sources. It all flowed very well in my opinion. I am not very good at finding techniques, but some things I noticed is he did the normal(,".") and then also he provided one about a student saying something: Ex: whatever the student said. Which was on page 85 if that helps. I basically use the same quotes as he does but on a much simpler scale. One quote I used in doc1 was  In the report Why Do We Procrastinate? 12 Psychological reasons behind it , Leon Ho listed, "Being a perfectionist... Lacking self-control... Overwhelmed by tasks...Being Lazy.” What I did...

Post 2: Procrastination

The rhetorical situation in Doc 1 that I chose was procrastination, and as the writer I am trying to convey to you the reader why procrastination needs to be fixed. The resource I used was gemini to help give me an overview of my topic. I am creating this 800 word essay to learn ways to more effectively reduce or completely halt any procrastination I have which will in return allow me to get work in on time especially since I already am starting off behind. My doc 1 starts off with reasons as to why most people procrastinate. Five reasons mentioned were fear of failure, lack of motivation, overwhelmed, poor time management, and perfectionism. These are very common factors which in talking about allowed me to write strategies to help fix these problems. One way was to break down tasks because it makes the overall task easier to look at and start chipping away. One way to overcome procrastination as show by Sarah is to create planners and a timeline to complete the work. She also s...

Post 01: Introduction

Tuesday, October 15, 2024 Fall 2024 Post 01: Introduction to Miguel Santiago I'm writing about who I am. My full name is Miguel Antonio Santiago I am 18 years old and I was born in 2006. I have lived my entire life in Woodstock, GA which is roughly about 30-45 mins North of Atlanta. In that area I decided to do two sports, swim and baseball. During my early years I swam and played baseball at the same time, but that changed junior year middle school when I decided I didn't want to swim anymore. After that I was solely playing baseball. On the topic of playing baseball I played for my highschool team called the Etowah Eagles and they are a 6a division. My team ended up winning the 6a Georgia State Championship this year. An additional fact about me is I am currently in aviation flight school and am working on getting my private written done outside of the school. I originally joined aviation because of a second grade careers project, and also because I was influenced by my dad...
